1. Select a leaf
Choose healthy, plump and plump leaves. Avoid picking damaged, wrinkled or discolored leaves. Cut the lower leaves, which are perfectly fat and well grown, and place the smaller leaves on top.
2. Remove the leaves
The most important part of succulent propagation is cutting a leaf. You can cut it with scissors or by hand. Hold it gently and tap with its clean base.
For successful rooting, the leaf must remain intact. Grasp the leaf with your index finger and thumb and gently move it back and forth to loosen it. Then remove the leaf from the mother plant with a healthy intact base.

3. Soil and planting for succulent propagation

For best results, start with leaves and cuttings in shallow trays or small containers filled with potting soil mixture. Separate containers eliminate the need to transfer succulents immediately after rooting.
While most popular succulents take root easily, rooting is slow in some varieties. You can use rooting hormone to speed up the process and improve root growth. More uniform roots lead to stronger and more rooted plants.
Take a damp cloth or towel and wipe the bottom of the leaf to moisten it. Now immerse the end in the rooting hormone. You can also use honey as a substitute for natural rooting hormone.

Take a container and fill it with water. (You can prepare it by mixing sand, perlite and potting soil). Or, you can use cocopeat to propagate succulents.
Place the leaves on the growing medium with the top facing away from the soil. Make sure your planting environment is light and does not contain pre-added fertilizers.
